Activity 1: Technology Concerns
1) Description: Discuss concerns you have regarding technology use/integration on your campus.
2) Steps involved:
What classes/grade levels do you teach?
What technology is available for teachers to use on your campus?
What are your biggest concerns regarding technology use/integration on your campus?
How can those concerns be resolved?
3) Length of Activity: 20 minutes
Activity 2: Technology Staff Development
1) Description: Discuss the staff development that should be implemented that will best increase/improve technology use/integration on your campus.
2) Steps involved:
Share any outstanding staff development sessions you have attended in the last 3 years.
Critique the technology staff development on your campus.
How can it be improved?
What type of staff development is needed to get more teachers to integrate technology in their lessons?
Specifically, what training do teachers on your campus need (software, hardware, etc)?
Are there any members of the business community that we can get to speak to our teachers to stress the importance of technology integration?
3) Length of Activity: 30 minutes
Activity 3: Technology TEKS Coverage Concerns
1) Description: Discuss concerns you have on how well the Technology TEKS are covered in your district.
2) Steps involved:
Are your incoming Freshmen technology literate when they arrive at your school?
What TEKS are not being covered adequately in your district?
What TEKS are being covered adequately in your district?
What suggestions do you have to improve coverage of the Technology TEKS?
